In the classic sci-fi movie Back to the Future III, Doc Brown told his young charge Marty McFly 'where we're going...we don't need roads'. Smart Road Designers and Engineers haven't quite figured out how to remove roads from the equation, but they'll be using data and technology in a host of interesting ways to make transportation faster, easier and more efficient.
This job hasn't yet emerged - we'll probably start to see it appear around 2030.
