Patent Agent

Take a look around you and you'll probably see some inventions. Computers, phones, desks, lamps; sidewalks, street lights, bicycles - all these things were invented, and chances are they'll have one, two or maybe even dozens of patents associated with them.

Patent agents help innovation happen: they advise and assist inventors with the crucial steps in creating and lodging patent applications for their inventions.

They assist inventors with completing and submitting all patent-application paperwork, writing the inventor's legally enforceable claims of ownership to the invention, revising rejected patent applications, and deciding when it's best to abandon an application.

Practitioners create a space for the people they are helping, and let them bring the content (rather than a teacher or mentor whose job it is to impart education and information). An impartial stance means being in a place of non-judgement, of holding a space of psychological safety, and maintaining an equal voice to all those taking part.
